The purpose of periodontal surgery is to treat deformities and tissue loss created by the disease process. Techniques have been developed to deal with soft tissues and underlying bone.

To have a better understanding of Periodontal flap management and to maximise the participants exposure to different Surgical techniques that can be applied in the daily practice to help provide long term favourable surgical outcomes.
Understand and demonstrate the concept of ridge preservation & ridge augmentation.
To maximise the participants exposure to different bio compatible materials that are used in the daily practice & implant site development.
Demonstrate and discuss various techniques for flap management and suturing.
Know and understand different materials that can be used as an alternative for soft tissue augmentation.
Know how to perform full thickness and partial thickness mucoperiosteal flaps and the indication & contraindication for each flap.
Know and Understand Suture materials.
Discuss the advantages and uses of different Flap designs and suturing techniques.
Discuss practical case planning and treatment for different cases.
